Kombes Fahrurozi files defamation report against Malaysian national

Police Commissioner (Kombes) Fahrurozi has filed a counter-report with Bareskrim Polri, alleging defamation, doxing, and slander against a Malaysian national identified as S bin AS. The legal action follows a report filed by the Malaysian citizen on August 20, 2026, which accused Fahrurozi of involvement in a gold mine investment fraud and embezzlement in North Sulawesi totaling Rp 58.5 billion.

Fahrurozi denies the allegations, asserting that the claims are false and that he intends to reveal the actual facts to the public. He stated that the complainant is actually a reported party in a separate Eurobit investment fraud case that Fahrurozi had previously reported to the cybercrime unit in April.

The dispute originated in May 2025, when the Malaysian national was allegedly introduced to Fahrurozi through a third party and offered a gold mine investment claimed to be legal. Fahrurozi's legal counsel maintains that the social media dissemination of these accusations constitutes a criminal violation of the ITE Law and the new Criminal Code.
