Komisi Yudisial investigates judges over CMNP dispute
The Judicial Commission (KY) of Indonesia is set to summon a panel of judges from the Central Jakarta District Court regarding an alleged ethical violation. The case involves a dispute over Negotiable Certificate of Deposit (NCD) transactions between PT MNC Asia Holding and PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk (CMNP).
Legal counsel for PT MNC Asia Holding reported that the investigation follows a complaint filed in July 2026. One primary allegation is that the judges were negligent by including a deceased individual, Teddy Kharsadi, as a co-defendant despite his passing in 2016.
Separately, KY Chairman Abdul Chair Ramadhan addressed the nature of judicial oversight during a lecture at Hasanuddin University. He emphasized that monitoring judicial conduct is intended to maintain ethics and legal standards rather than to intervene in court rulings. He advocated for a balance between judicial independence and accountability to prevent the abuse of power.
