German crime films Jennerwein and Der Geier premiere
Several new crime productions are arriving on German television and cinema. The film ‘Jennerwein – Hochsaison’, based on Jörg Maurer’s bestselling series, recently held its premiere in Munich. Starring Florian Brückner as Commissioner Hubertus Jennerwein, the story follows the investigator as he returns to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, only to face a series of mysterious deaths and threats involving a Danish ski jumper and local winter sports officials.
Additionally, the ZDF crime series ‘Der Geier: Blut und Zweifel’ is featuring Philipp Hochmair as Lukas Geier, an eccentric ex-police officer turned rockstar. Set in the landscape of Bad Gastein, the plot involves a search for a killer using a crossbow. The story follows Geier as he attempts to prove the innocence of a former associate amidst a series of murders in the mountain region.
Other regional crime productions include ‘Föhnlage. Ein Alpenkrimi’, which follows Commissioner Jennerwein in Garmisch-Partenkirchen dealing with deaths exacerbated by local weather conditions.
