Komono Town to host 70th anniversary walking event

Komono Town in Mie Prefecture will host an Autumn Walking Event on October 17, 2026, to commemorate the town's 70th anniversary. The event is free to participate in and does not require advance registration; participants can simply arrive at the designated meeting point at Fukushi Park.

Two different routes are available to accommodate various fitness levels: a long course of approximately 9.5 km and a short course of approximately 5 km. Both routes pass through local historical sites, including the Nanbu Community Center, Gorobe Jizo, Ukawara Shrine, and the Uruta Triumphal Arch. Participants who complete the walk will receive an original tin badge.

The event is open to residents, workers, and students of Komono Town. In the event of severe weather or emergency warnings, the event may be canceled, with announcements made via the local disaster prevention radio at 6:50 AM on the day of the event.
