Komárno student faces detention for hate-motivated extortion
A 15-year-old student in Komárno is facing a motion for detention following allegations of extortion motivated by hate. According to Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka, the teenager repeatedly threatened a classmate with death if the victim did not stop expressing views that condemned racism and if they did not behave according to the suspect's expectations.
The Nitra Regional Prosecutor's Office submitted the motion to the Specialized Criminal Court. The legal classification of the act was updated to include a special motive targeting a protected person, specifically a child. Police have interviewed the suspect, the victim, a teacher, and the school principal. The case has been transferred to the regional criminal police for further investigation.
