Konami and Hideo Kojima projects see new developments

Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake, has expressed hope that Konami will develop a new installment in the Metal Gear series for fans worldwide. While Otsuka reiterated his stance that he does not wish to work on any Metal Gear projects that do not involve creator Hideo Kojima, he suggested that Konami should produce more content for the global fanbase, noting Kojima's success with independent projects like Death Stranding.

In a separate development related to Kojima's legacy, a modder known as Lorean The Gamer has successfully decompiled the PlayStation 4 executable for P.T., the playable teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills. The project has reconstructed the game as a native PC application using C++ and Vulkan. This modernized version supports higher resolutions, improved frame rates, and mouse and keyboard controls. Hideo Kojima reportedly reposted coverage of the project on X, while Konami has not issued a comment regarding the fan-led preservation effort.
