Konami announces Castlevania: Belmont's Curse release date

Konami is preparing to release Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on October 15, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Developed in collaboration with Evil Empire, the title marks a significant new entry for the long-running franchise.

Set in the ruins of Paris, the game follows Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont, as she battles a resurrected Dracula. Gameplay features a new movement system where players use a whip to swing between fixed points in the environment or use enemies as pivot points to facilitate high-speed, three-dimensional combat.

In addition to physical combat, the game introduces a spellcasting mechanic involving a deck of tarot cards. Players can acquire unique abilities by defeating bosses, whose souls are consumed by the cards to grant new powers. Early impressions from the Tokyo Game Show 2026 highlight smooth transitions between exploration and combat, as well as high-quality visual effects involving lighting and architecture.
