Konami celebrates 40 years of Castlevania with free mobile games and sales

Konami is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise with a series of global initiatives. To mark the milestone, the original game is being released for free on iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play until October 24, 2026. Users who download the title during this period will retain permanent access to it.

In addition to the free mobile release, Konami has launched significant sales across multiple platforms. Discounts of up to 80% are available on select titles and collections through the PlayStation Store and Steam. The celebrations also include the release of official soundtracks on streaming services and a planned series of orchestral concerts titled ‘Castlevania 40th Anniversary An Orchestral Concert’ scheduled for spring 2027 in London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles.

Looking ahead, Konami confirmed the upcoming release of ‘Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse’ on October 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There is also speculation among fans regarding a potential ‘3D Collection’ based on visual cues in recent anniversary promotional material.
