Konami announces eFootball Championship 2027 details

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced details for the eFootball Championship 2027, the official esports tournament for its free-to-play football simulation title. The upcoming season features a significantly expanded competitive structure and increased rewards.

The total prize pool will triple from 100,000 USD to 300,000 USD. Additionally, the number of participants qualifying for the World Finals in both the Console and Mobile divisions will increase from 16 to 24. The competitive circuit will consist of two primary formats: the Club Event, where players compete to represent partner clubs such as FC Barcelona and Manchester United, and the Open event, which is accessible to all players globally.

A new Local Events component has been introduced, allowing winners from various regions to qualify directly for the World Finals scheduled for summer 2027. The season commences with a tournament to determine the representative for FC Internazionale Milano. Winners of Club Finals will also gain access to an exclusive Club Tour program, including stadium visits and matches.
