Konami launches major eFootball update with new modes and mechanics
Konami has launched a major update for its free-to-play football simulation, eFootball, across PC, consoles, and mobile platforms. The update introduces several new gameplay mechanics and competitive modes designed to increase strategic depth.
A headline feature is the ‘Custom Tournament’ mode, which allows players to host their own competitions for up to eight participants. Organizers can set specific rules and themes, and spectate matches in real time. Tactical flexibility is enhanced through ‘Fluid Formations,’ allowing users to switch between attacking and defensive setups during a match, and the introduction of a manager with ‘Link-Up Plays,’ featuring legendary coach Antonio Conte.
Gameplay improvements include the ‘Dynamic Volley’ shooting mechanic and a variety of new animations for dribbling, passing, and goalkeeper actions. Additionally, Konami collaborated with PlatinumGames Inc. to refresh daily bonus content and introduce the ‘Daily Super Play’ feature, which allows players to recreate spectacular football moments through timing-based mini-games.
