Konami targets annual Silent Hill releases and franchise revivals

Konami is implementing a major strategic shift focused on revitalizing its core intellectual properties. Producer Motoi Okamoto announced at Gamescom 2026 that the company aims to release a new Silent Hill title annually. To prevent narrative fatigue and maintain variety, Konami plans to move the series beyond its traditional American settings, exploring diverse global locations and storytelling styles through partnerships with various external development studios.

Simultaneously, Konami has launched Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 worldwide. This collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, marking the first time the former is available on modern platforms outside of PlayStation. The release also features the spin-off Metal Gear: Ghost Babel and various digital bonus materials.

President Hideki Hayakawa confirmed that rebooting and reinvigorating iconic franchises like Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania are central pillars of the company’s business strategy. While a major Castlevania reboot is reportedly in active development, specific details regarding studios or release windows remain unconfirmed.
