The 13th Konami Sports Junior Cup finals were held on September 20 and 22 at the Nasu Highland Golf Club in Nasu-Shiobara, Tochigi Prefecture. The tournament featured 115 elementary and junior high school golfers.
Winners included Arato Nakano (lower elementary division), Yuto Komaki (upper elementary division), and Yunosuke Tasaki (junior high school division). Winners are eligible for support from the Kozuki Foundation, which has standardized its grant amount to 1.2 million yen to assist talented young athletes facing financial challenges.
Professional coach Yuji Naito, who has observed the tournament since its inception in 2010, emphasized the importance of mastering fundamentals and proper club selection during these formative years. He noted that while winning is a positive experience, developing a technically sound swing and understanding golf management are critical for long-term success.
