Konami unveils eFootball 6.0 update for 2027 season

Konami announced that its free‑to‑play eFootball will receive the 6.0 update in August, marking the start of the 2027 virtual season after the real‑world FIFA World Cup and the conclusion of the 2026 eFootball season. The headline feature is a Custom Tournament mode that lets players design, organise and host their own online championships with fully custom rules, settings and regulations. Additional gameplay changes include the new Overload Team Playstyle – moving many players to the same side of the ball to gain numerical superiority – and the ability to set separate attacking and defending formations, mirroring real‑world club tactics. Minor tweaks affect the Daily Game mode and volley mechanics, such as the "Epic Wayne Rooney" style Stunning Shots.

At the recent eFootball World Finals, two Brazilian competitors claimed the 2026 titles: Rentao of FC Barcelona won the mobile cup, while AC Milan’s FUTEASY_10 secured the console champion crown.
