Konavle Municipal Council approves new waste disposal pricing

The Konavle Municipal Council has rejected a proposal from the Konavle-Cavtat Citizens' Initiative regarding the invalidation of previous waste collection decisions. Instead, the council unanimously approved a new price list for communal waste disposal services, set to take effect on January 1 next year.

Pavo Arbulić, Director of ČiZK, explained that the new pricing structure addresses a significant deficit, noting that while waste disposal revenues in 2025 were 301,000 euros, expenditures reached 960,000 euros. The new system will include both fixed and variable components to align with actual costs and incentivize recycling. Fixed rates for households are set at 10.14 euros, while non-household entities will face rates ranging from 20.34 to 61.02 euros depending on their category. Variable costs will be calculated at 4 cents per liter of waste.
