Kongo Central: Nkamba road construction advances via Sino-Congolese cooperation

Construction is underway on the historic Nkamba road in the Kongo Central province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project, which aims to modernize the route leading to the Kimbanguist holy city, is being funded through a joint partnership between the Congolese government and SICOMINES as part of a national connectivity program.

The roadwork, part of the ‘Chemin de la Passion’ project in the Mbanza-Ngungu territory, covers an 8-kilometer stretch. According to site engineers, the project has already opened the entire linear distance, with work progressing on the wearing course, sanitation, and earthworks to improve regional corridors and local economic activity.
