Konidela Naga Babu assumes AP Green Executive Committee chairmanship
Konidela Naga Babu, brother of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has assumed office as the Chairman of the AP Green Executive Committee. Holding the rank of a Cabinet Minister, Naga Babu aims to increase the state's green cover from its current 22.96 percent to 50 percent of its total geographical area by the year 2047.
Speaking at Aranya Bhavan in Mangalagiri, Naga Babu stated that environmental protection will be transformed from a government program into a mass movement involving public participation. The initiative plans to expand greenery across various landscapes, including agricultural lands, villages, cities, roadsides, canal banks, industrial areas, and unused land.
To achieve this goal, the AP Green committee will coordinate with multiple departments, including agriculture, horticulture, panchayat raj, education, industry, revenue, water resources, transport, and forestry.
