Koningin Wilhelminaplein undergoes major urban redevelopment in Amsterdam

The Koningin Wilhelminaplein area in Amsterdam-West has completed a major transformation, expanding from approximately 30,000 m² to 90,000 m². The redevelopment project, initiated by Boelens de Gruyter, has converted the former office location into a mixed-use urban environment.

The new development includes 30,000 m² of office space, over 600 residences, and approximately 3,000 m² dedicated to retail and hospitality. The project focused on densification and renovation while preserving existing buildings and structures where possible to integrate the expansion within the existing city fabric.

A celebration was held on September 17 to mark the completion, attended by stakeholders including Alderman Alexander Scholtes, Boelens de Gruyter co-founder Maarten de Gruyter, and Dura Vermeer CEO Theo Winter.
