Konnan receives TNA Hall of Fame induction amid health recovery
Wrestling veteran Konnan, born Charles Ashenoff, was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame during the Bound for Glory pay-per-view weekend. Due to ongoing health complications, he was unable to attend the ceremony in person or provide a recorded message; instead, Cruz Montana accepted the plaque on his behalf.
Reports indicate that Konnan, 62, has spent several months in the hospital and undergoing physical rehabilitation following a difficult year of illness and pain. Earlier reports in June noted that he had undergone a double leg amputation. While he remains unable to travel, sources close to his condition suggest that ‘the worst is over.’ It has also been reported that WWE is covering his medical expenses during his recovery.
