Konoba Baća preserves 150 years of culinary tradition in Ston
Konoba Baća, one of the oldest restaurants in Ston, Croatia, is preserving nearly 150 years of culinary tradition. Established in 1878 as a family tavern, the establishment has recently entered a new chapter under the ownership of Tomislav Šare from the Bota Šare gastro family.
While maintaining its authentic roots, the restaurant has introduced a modern gastronomic signature through chef Stanka Tolj. The menu focuses on traditional recipes, such as the historic Ston cake (makaruli), which is prepared using cooked macaroni, almonds, walnuts, chocolate, and various spices. The restaurant remains open year-round, serving as a gathering point for locals, fishermen, and travelers seeking authentic flavors of southern Dalmatia.
