Konopnica hosts final of youth theatre program 'Our Village – Our Story
On Sunday, 2 August at 16:00, the concert hall of the Municipal Cultural Centre and Public Library in Konopnica staged the final performance of the summer theatre program “Our Village – Our Story”. The two‑week half‑summer camp, funded with 40 000 zł by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, allowed 24 children and teenagers (ages 10‑15) to participate free of charge in workshops covering theatre, dance, vocal training, visual arts and sound design. The culminating show featured three pieces – “The Legend of Wartmile and Konopieju”, “Letter from Konopnica” and “String to the Theatre” – many of which were inspired by the works of local poet Eleonora Grondowa. The program was overseen by chief instructor Jarosław Strzała, assisted by a team of facilitators, and supported by local staff who provided daily meals and supervision. Director Daniel Sibiak praised the initiative for offering creative summer activities in the countryside.
The event highlights the Ministry’s support for regional cultural projects and showcases the artistic talents of young participants in the Masovian Voivodeship.
