Konstantin Kisimov Theatre to premiere Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’

The Konstantin Kisimov Musical and Drama Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo will premiere a new production of Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’ on September 30. Directed by Elitsa Yovcheva, the play explores themes of memory, time, and the necessity of moving forward while maintaining a connection to the past.

The new season marks several significant anniversaries for the institution: 55 years of the state opera, 75 years of professional drama theatre in Veliko Tarnovo, and the 130th anniversary of the birth of the theatre’s patron, Konstantin Kisimov.

The production features a cast from the theatre’s dramatic ensemble, including Stefka Zlatkova as Lyubov Andreevna Ranevskaya, Milen Ivanov as Leonid Gaev, Boyan Fartsov as Ermolai Lopakhin, and Samuil Goranov as Pyotr Trofimov.
