Konstantin Papazov runs for Bulgarian Basketball Federation president

Konstantin Papazov, president of Levski Konstantin basketball club and former head coach of the Bulgarian men's national team, has officially announced his candidacy for president of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation. The announcement was made during a press conference in Sofia, following an invitation from the outgoing federation head, Georgi Glushkov.

Papazov emphasized his lifelong commitment to the sport, stating that basketball is his life and destiny. He expressed a desire for a “fair start” in the upcoming elections, which are scheduled to take place on October 5.

His candidacy received public support from Bulgarian basketball legends Georgi Mladenov and Petko Marinov. While both figures endorsed Papazov, they clarified that they would not be part of his official campaign team. Mladenov praised Papazov’s dedication to the sport, noting that he has consistently prioritized the development of Bulgarian basketball and its clubs over personal gain.
