Greek footballer Konstantinos Karetsas has been discharged from the hospital following a medical emergency during a Champions League match between Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal. The 18-year-old midfielder was carried off the pitch on a stretcher in the first half after experiencing circulation issues without any physical contact with an opponent.

Karetsas's mother, Irena Kitsinis, stated that medical examinations suggest the incident was caused by dehydration. While the news is a relief to the player's family and the club, Borussia Dortmund is exercising extreme caution. The club intends to conduct further thorough testing to rule out any potential risks before allowing him to return to training or competitive matches.
