Konstantinos Karetsas scores on Borussia Dortmund debut
Borussia Dortmund's new 18-year-old signing Konstantinos Karetsas made a significant impact during his unofficial debut in a 3-2 friendly victory against Arsenal. Karetsas scored a goal in the 29th minute, curling a shot into the far corner to extend Dortmund's lead to 2-0.
Despite the standout performance, head coach Niko Kovac substituted Karetsas at halftime as part of a training management strategy to ensure the youngster is not overextended. Dortmund Managing Director Lars Ricken praised the midfielder's composure and alertness, noting his ability to perform effectively despite having only five days of training with the team.
In addition to Karetsas, other young talents Samuele Ignacio and Joane Gadou also scored for Dortmund during the match. The team is scheduled to hold its season opening test following their return to Dortmund.
