Konstantinos Kyranakis criticizes Tsipras over fuel price proposals

Konstantinos Kyranakis, Secretary of New Democracy, has criticized proposals by Alexis Tsipras regarding fuel price reductions, arguing that such promises lack a concrete and implementable plan.

Kyranakis stated that while he supports the direction of reducing the Special Consumption Tax on gasoline, the credibility of any such announcement depends on explaining how the target will be achieved. He noted that it is easy to make promises when there is no immediate responsibility to implement them.

Regarding government actions for heating oil, Kyranakis mentioned that significant work has been done to reduce consumer costs through both refineries and state support. He indicated that heating oil prices will be significantly lower than 1.75 euros, with specific announcements expected in the coming days, particularly addressing the needs of Northern Greece and island regions.
