Konstantinos Tasoulas named Honorary Citizen of Souli

Konstantinos Tasoulas, the President of the Republic, has been declared an Honorary Citizen of the Municipality of Souli. The ceremony took place at the Bulgari Museum in Paramythia.

During the event, Mayor Athanasios Danis emphasized that the distinction is a symbolic act intended to honor the institutions of the Republic, the historical continuity of Hellenism, and the sacrifices of ancestors. The Mayor specifically linked the honor to the memory of the 49 Prokritoi of Paramythia, who were executed by Nazi occupation forces.

In his response, President Tasoulas stated that he views the honor as a tribute to the institution of the Presidency rather than himself. He noted that the President serves as a regulator of the political landscape and a symbol of national unity. Tasoulas expressed his commitment to making this recognition substantive through his actions and noted the historical importance of the occasion.
