Konvergencie festival honors 120th anniversary of Ľudovít Rajter
The autumn Konvergencie festival in Bratislava will honor the 120th anniversary of the birth of Ľudovít Rajter (1906–2000). The festival is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18.
Rajter was a prominent conductor, composer, and musician who conducted the first historical concert of the Slovak Philharmonic. His career spanned seven decades, during which he collaborated with notable figures such as Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály. He studied in Vienna alongside Herbert von Karajan and received mentorship from Ernő Dohnányi at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.
The festival's programming will focus on Rajter's musical legacy and his international connections. A discussion titled ‘Ľudovít Rajter – inhabitant of the Pannonian regions’ is also scheduled for October 14.
