Konya Academic Publishing Summit explores future of scientific publishing
The Konya Academic Publishing Summit (KAPS 2026), hosted by Necmettin Erbakan University, held its fourth day of sessions focusing on the future of scientific and academic publishing. Key topics included research analytics, digital transformation, open access, and the integration of artificial intelligence in editorial workflows.
Presentations covered various specialized areas, such as the use of Web of Science data for institutional strategy and the role of digital management systems for publishers. Experts also discussed global visibility for open-access books and the implementation of AI-supported editorial processes from submission to decision-making.
Additionally, the summit addressed legal and technical standards. A representative from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism provided insights into publishing coding systems, including ISBN, ISSN, and ISMN, as well as legal deposit processes. The program concluded with discussions on journal editorship and enhancing academic visibility.
