Konya and Niamey sign sister city memorandum

Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Niamey Municipality have signed a sister city memorandum of understanding. The agreement was finalized during a visit to Konya by Boubacar Soumana Garanke, the Mayor of Niamey and President of the Association of Nigerien Municipalities.

Uğur İbrahim Altay, the Mayor of Konya and President of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), hosted the delegation. Altay noted that the partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences to improve the lives of citizens in both cities. He also highlighted his international roles, including serving as the Special Envoy for Cities and Local Governments for COP31.
