Turkish bar associations hold elections for new leadership

Multiple bar association elections across Turkey have concluded, resulting in several new leadership appointments.

In Ankara, Elçin Özge Şimşek Çağlayan, representing the Democratic Left Lawyers Group, was elected president of the Ankara Bar Association with 5,848 votes. In Van, Sinan Özaraz secured re-election as president, defeating Savaş Nurullah Kıylık.

Other regional election results include: Sibel Şirin was elected president of the Karabük Bar Association; Hakan Özdemir won the presidency of the Sivas Bar Association; Mithat Yaşar was elected head of the Adıyaman Bar Association; and Sertaç Buluttekin became the new president of the Diyarbakır Bar Association. In Niğde, Emin Alper Öztürk was re-elected, while Hakan Kılıçparlar led the new management for the Gaziantep Bar Association.

Separately, Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım addressed the club's recent poor performance, expressing dissatisfaction with recent match results and calling for unity among fans and the technical staff to overcome the current challenges.
