Konya Beet Growers Cooperative holds 74th Financial General Assembly

The 74th Financial General Assembly of the Konya Beet Growers Cooperative has concluded, with President Ramazan Erkoyuncu retaining his position after receiving 3,444 votes in favor and 366 against the discharge of management accounts.

Erkoyuncu reported that a 22 million euro investment was made to increase capacity at the Konya Şeker and Çumra Sugar factories, which has shortened campaign durations and increased sugar production volumes. He noted that despite cash flow challenges, the organization continues to pay down past debts and fulfill obligations to producers.

Addressing allegations that 400,000 tons of sugar were sold at 17 lira, Erkoyuncu clarified that the weighted average price for 'A sugar' sales was 8.17 lira. He stated that while prices later rose to the 17-18 lira range, only approximately 12.7% of total sales were conducted above 18 lira, with over 87% of sales occurring below that threshold.
