Konya farmer uses donkey for traditional agriculture

In the Güneysınır district of Konya, 74-year-old farmer Murat Cebic continues to practice traditional agriculture on a two-decare plot of land. Despite the advancement of modern farming technologies, Cebic relies on manual labor and his donkey to manage his crops.

Cebic uses his donkey for various tasks, including plowing the field and transporting produce and fodder. He noted that he purchased his current donkey five years ago for 800 lira after giving his older animals away to others. He earns his living by growing and selling beans, stating, “We do not know technology or tractors; we plant, harvest, and earn our living on our own.”
