Konya farmers warned of heavy rainfall threatening crops

Heavy rainfall is impacting agricultural regions in Konya, Turkey, prompting urgent calls for farmers to protect their crops. According to meteorological assessments from WeatherX Türkiye representative Kuttusi Demir, intense precipitation is affecting several districts, including Çeltik, Yunak, Tuzlukçu, Akşehir, Doğanhisar, Hüyük, and Ilgın.

The weather has already caused damage to products undergoing the drying process in open fields. Experts warn that the current weather system is moving eastward, meaning the risk area is expanding. A second wave of precipitation is expected to arrive tomorrow, leading authorities to advise producers to use tarps or move harvests to enclosed areas to prevent further economic loss.
