Konya Fish Market undergoes comprehensive modernization

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality has completed a major renovation and modernization project at the city's fish market (Balık Hali). The initiative aimed to improve hygiene standards, enhance the working environment for local tradesmen, and provide a more comfortable shopping experience for citizens.

Key structural improvements include the application of protective paint to the building's steel support blocks to prevent corrosion and the installation of a modern standing seam roof system to resolve previous water leakage issues. To address hygiene concerns caused by birds, the municipality installed specialized bird-prevention netting that does not harm wildlife.

Additionally, the facility's common areas were upgraded, including the renovation of restrooms to meet modern standards and the addition of ablution areas. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that these improvements are part of an ongoing effort to ensure service areas across the city are healthy, safe, and comfortable.
