Konya Folk Dance Festival to Host 1,015 Middle School Performers

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Provincial Directorate of National Education are co‑organising a Folk Dance Festival in 2026. The event will involve 1,015 middle‑school students from 32 schools across 13 districts of Konya, who will train with expert instructors throughout the year.

The competition follows a league format, with preliminary rounds leading to a grand final on 18 June 2026 at the Selçuklu Congress Center. The top four teams in the final will receive prizes. The festival aims to preserve and promote regional folk‑dance heritage while bringing together young participants from across the city.
