Konya footwear business expands from small workshop to international exporter
A family-owned footwear business in Konya, Turkey, has transitioned from a 20-square-meter workshop established in 1963 into a large-scale exporter. Founded by İsa Çelik through manual craftsmanship, the business has evolved across three generations.
Currently managed by his son, Osman Çelik, and grandson, Görkem Çelik, the company has moved to a 680-square-meter production facility in the Aykent Sanayiciler Sitesi. By integrating automation and modern technology, such as laser leather cutting machines, the firm has increased its capacity to produce 1,000 pairs of shoes and sandals daily.
The business now exports products to markets in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, marking a significant shift from its origins as a local workshop serving only Konya customers.
