Konya health officials bring disability report renewals to patients' homes

The Konya Provincial Health Directorate has implemented a project to facilitate the renewal of disability reports for bedridden patients and those unable to leave their homes. Through the Beyhekim Training and Research Hospital, medical teams utilize Home Health Services to conduct evaluations on-site.

Under this system, patients or their relatives apply through a digital platform. A doctor and nurse then visit the patient at a scheduled time to perform an initial examination. The visiting physician connects via video call to a medical board consisting of specialists in fields such as internal medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, and physical therapy. Following the remote consultation, the board determines the disability rating, and the report is uploaded to the system the following day.

Chief Physician Halil Ekrem Akkurt stated that the project, which has been in operation for six months, integrates the Ministry of Health’s remote patient assessment system with home health services to alleviate the burden on families caring for immobile patients.
