Konya hosts 13th Book Days and 60th Folk Poets Festival

The city of Konya recently hosted two major cultural events: the 13th Konya Book Days and the 60th Konya Folk Poets Festival (Âşıklar Bayramı).

At the Konya Book Days, organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the Presidency of Communications Publications made its debut. The event featured 116 publishing houses and 147 authors, showcasing a portfolio of 230 works published in 16 different languages. The publications cover topics such as Turkish history, foreign policy, strategic communication, and public diplomacy, serving as academic resources for students and researchers.

Simultaneously, the 60th Konya Folk Poets Festival was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Karatay Municipality, and the Konya Culture and Tourism Association. The festival, which began in 1966, celebrates the traditional folk poetry heritage through outdoor performances, symposiums, and exhibitions. The program includes academic discussions on the tradition of folk poetry and musical performances by various folk poets.
