Konya hosts launch of fifth volume of martyr tribute book

The fifth volume of the book series ‘1 Şehit, 1 Öykü, 1 Şiir’ (1 Martyr, 1 Story, 1 Poem) was introduced in Konya. The project, initiated by the Bursa City Council Poets and Writers Working Group, features stories and poems written by volunteer authors from Turkey and Azerbaijan to honor martyrs.

Faruk Anbarcıoğlu, Chairman of the Selection Committee, explained that the project began after Harun Yıldırım, a resident of France, reached out following an emotional response to a photograph of a veteran in a Turkish newspaper. The series has grown through multiple volumes: the first focused on Turkish martyrs, while the fourth and fifth volumes were dedicated to Azerbaijani martyrs following requests from Azerbaijan.

Anbarcıoğlu noted that the participating authors received no financial compensation, and all proceeds from the books have been donated to martyr associations. The fifth volume consists of 560 pages containing 57 stories written by 57 authors.
