Konya initiatives focus on women's empowerment and combating violence

Various initiatives in Konya, Turkey, have focused on women's empowerment and the fight against violence. Journalist and author Zuhal Tuna met with women at the Çamlıtepe ADEM center to discuss personal development, economic and psychological strength, and the importance of social solidarity. Tuna emphasized that continuous learning is vital regardless of age and encouraged women to seek self-improvement to avoid feeling helpless.

In a separate event, the Konya Journalists Association hosted a seminar titled ‘Awareness Seminar for Combating Violence Against Women.’ The seminar brought together officials from the Directorate of Communications and the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services to discuss the media's role in increasing social awareness. Participants highlighted that preventing violence requires widespread social education and that the press holds a significant responsibility in addressing this societal issue.
