Konya Jandarma conducts large‑scale cyber patrol and criminal checks

In July 2026, the Konya Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s cyber patrol examined 39,108 social‑media accounts and URLs, taking action against 4,549 accounts. The operation uncovered 2,280 illegal‑gambling sites, 2,269 accounts sharing obscene content, as well as instances of terrorist propaganda, threats, traffic endangerment, fraud, and other offenses, and forwarded 154 open‑source research reports to judicial and law‑enforcement bodies.

During June 2026, the same force carried out a comprehensive security sweep, querying 1,248,867 individuals and 3,775,025 vehicles. The sweep resulted in the arrest of 513 wanted persons—including 300 facing imprisonment of five years or more—and the seizure of 185 vehicles.
