Konya Metropolitan Municipality announces firefighting painting contest winners

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality has announced the winners of its painting competition themed ‘Firefighting,’ organized for university students in Konya. Coordinated by the municipality’s Fire Department, the contest aimed to promote firefighting awareness, contribute to the arts, and support future painters.

Fatma Nur Tokmak from Necmettin Erbakan University’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture won first place with her work ‘Against the Fire,’ receiving 50,000 lira. Fadime Berru Akıncı, also from Necmettin Erbakan University, took second place with ‘The Spark Under the Ash’ for 30,000 lira, while Selmin Nisa Atlan from Selçuk University’s Faculty of Fine Arts placed third with ‘Hope Within the Flames’ for 20,000 lira.

Several other students received honorable mentions. The winning and mentioned works will be showcased in an exhibition and award ceremony held between September 25 and October 1 as part of Fire Prevention Week.
