Konya Metropolitan Municipality renovates Mevlana Avenue

The Konya Metropolitan Municipality is currently conducting environmental landscaping and square renovation works on Mevlana Avenue as part of the Darülmülk Project. The initiative aims to preserve the city's historical and cultural heritage while providing a more modern and aesthetic appearance to the area.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the project focuses on making the historical axis more organized. Key improvements include limiting vehicle parking to create more pedestrian-friendly spaces, renewing ground surfaces, installing modern lighting systems, and adding social facilities, seating areas, and new green spaces.

Once completed, the renovation of the area between Alaaddin Hill and Mevlana Square is expected to strengthen Konya’s urban aesthetics and boost its tourism potential.
