Konya officials warn against driver's license scams

Authorities and driving school officials in Konya are warning citizens against a new fraudulent scheme circulating on social media. Scammers are using advertisements and fake videos promising ‘driver's licenses without exams’ or employing a ‘joker candidate’ method, where a third party supposedly takes the exam on behalf of the victim.

Selman Ceylan, President of the Konya Driving Schools Association, clarified that driver's licenses can only be issued by institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. He emphasized that candidates must complete all required training and pass official exams to receive a license. Experts noted that the ‘joker candidate’ method is impossible due to facial recognition technology used during electronic exams. Citizens are urged to avoid paying upfront fees to social media advertisers and to seek information only from official, Ministry-approved driving schools.
