Konya's Mehmet Güneş named Turkey’s Ahi of the Year

Mehmet Güneş has been named Turkey’s ‘Ahi of the Year,’ representing the city of Konya. This achievement continues a trend of recognition for Konya in the Ahilik tradition, which emphasizes professional ethics, solidarity, and honesty.

Muharrem Karabacak, President of the Konya Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, expressed pride in the success and noted that Konya has consistently produced award-winning masters, journeymen, and apprentices in recent years. Preparations are also underway for the 39th Ahilik Week celebrations, which will include various events across the country in mid-September.
