Konzum and Mercator to implement electronic shelf labels

Kenty Adria, a Fortenova Grupa company, has partnered with digital retail solutions provider Hanshow to implement electronic shelf labels (ESL) across Konzum and Mercator stores in Croatia and Slovenia. This initiative is part of a broader digital transformation strategy for the Fortenova Grupa retail network, with the goal of completing the rollout by the end of 2027.

Electronic shelf labels are digital displays that replace traditional paper tags, allowing for centralized and rapid updates of prices and product information. The technology aims to provide customers with accurate, real-time data while reducing manual labor and errors for employees. Following successful pilot projects conducted over the last two years, an intensive implementation phase began in 2026.

To date, electronic pricing has been introduced in over 200 stores. In Konzum's Radnička location in Zagreb, approximately 44,000 electronic labels were installed in just three days. The project intends to expand coverage significantly, with plans to implement labels in an additional 260 stores.
