KooKoo faces coaching crisis after nine consecutive Liiga losses
The Finnish ice hockey team KooKoo is facing a severe crisis following a disastrous start to the Liiga season. After achieving a sensational silver medal last spring, the team has now lost nine consecutive matches, earning only one point from the opening nine games.
Following a 3-0 loss to Tappara, concerns have intensified regarding head coach Jouko Myrrä. Analyst Petteri Sihvonen has called for an immediate change in leadership, stating that the club must find a new head coach rather than promoting assistant Tuukka Poikonen.
In addition to on-ice performance, criticism has been directed at the club's management and financial decisions. The team has conceded 40 goals while scoring only 15, placing them at the bottom of the league standings during a period where the threat of relegation is particularly high.
