KooKoo falls to HK Nitra while SaiPa wins CHL matchup

In Champions Hockey League (CHL) action, KooKoo suffered a 1–4 home defeat against Slovakian champions HK Nitra in Kouvola. After a scoreless first period, KooKoo took a 1–0 lead in the second period through Roope Tossavainen, assisted by Santeri Sulu and Verner Miettinen. However, HK Nitra responded quickly with a power-play goal by Michal Kristof, followed by an Ondrej Molnar strike to take a 2–1 lead. Nitra extended their advantage in the third period with a short-handed goal by Jakub Lacka and a final goal by Kristof to secure the victory.

In a separate CHL matchup, SaiPa secured a victory against Czech side Pardubice. SaiPa opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal from Petrus Palmu. The Finnish team built a commanding 3–0 lead in the second period following two quick goals by Einar Emanuelsson. Although Pardubice fought back with goals from David Tomasek and Jan Kostalek to narrow the gap, SaiPa maintained their lead to claim the win.
