Koopbank celebrates 67th anniversary and reports financial growth

Koopbank is celebrating its 67th anniversary. Established on September 9, 1959, through the partnership of 196 cooperatives, the bank has grown from a single branch to a widespread service network.

General Manager and Board Member Kemal Ataman reported that as of the end of August 2026, the bank reached a balance sheet size of 87 billion Turkish Liras, with 6.5 billion Turkish Liras in equity and a capital adequacy ratio in the 20 percent range.

In addition to financial growth, the bank is investing in service quality. Plans include moving the Nicosia Walled City branch to a new location before the end of the year and initiating renovation works for branches in Güzelyurt and Eastern Mediterranean University. The bank also introduced the Safir Card as part of its efforts to improve customer experience.
