Koperasi Desa Merah Putih prepares for operations with Bulog support

The Tulungagung Regency Government is conducting verification and validation of approximately 126 Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (KDMP) outlets to ensure they are ready for operation. This process, scheduled through October 13, 2026, involves inspecting building conditions and equipment. While 140 buildings have been constructed, some villages face delays due to land allocation issues. PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has appointed 144 managers for these cooperatives in the region.

To support these operations, Perum Bulog has introduced a consignment system for the distribution of Stabilisasi Pasokan dan Harga Pangan (SPHP) rice. Under this scheme, KDMP outlets can receive rice supplies with a 30-day payment term, providing financial flexibility. Unlike standard retailers who face order limits, Bulog will support the full supply requirements requested by Agrinas Pangan for the cooperatives. This initiative aims to expand Bulog’s distribution network and improve public access to affordable staple foods.
